Summer internship before co op for f1 international students

by InsanityEverywhere

I have a summer internship coming up this june as an international student on an f1 visa, but i haven’t taken a co-op class and haven’t been assigned a co-op advisor. has anyone been in the same boat as me and if so, have you been able to receive cpt authorization (and if so, how did you do so)?

I would say contact your academic advisor regarding the Co-op whether you need to register for internship or not. It usually depends on University or your major. But you should pay the CPT fees if you do not register for the class. Contact your advisor for the next steps. And congrats on your internship. All the very best !

Hi,

Yes, contact the OGS (office of Global Services) for the same. They will surely help you with this. Also, may I know which school you belong to in Northeastern University? Because it’s kind of sus that you don’t have a graduate career team or a co-op advisor.
