For decades, the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) was viewed as a prerequisite exam to study in the USA, almost a rite of passage for Indian students aiming for master’s programmes like MS or MBA. But times are changing fast. Although the most recent ETS Snapshot Report 2024-25 records specific demographics of test-takers, the trends demonstrate a decrease in the overall GRE numbers and a change in priorities regarding admissions to most universities in the US.
