Depends, some top universities like LBS or Oxford definitely need 700+ if you wanna stand out. But for places like Warwick, Durham, 600–650 also works if your profile is good. By the way which university are you planning to take admission to?

You’re right, GMAT does matter for many MBA programs in the UK, especially the top ones. But the score you need depends a lot on which schools you’re targeting and what the rest of your profile looks like.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

1. What’s Considered a Good GMAT Score for UK MBAs?

Top-tier schools (like London Business School, Oxford Saïd, Cambridge Judge):

Aim for 680–740. Their average class score is usually around 700.

Mid-tier schools (like Warwick, Manchester, Cranfield, Edinburgh):

A GMAT score of 600–650 can be acceptable, especially if you have strong work experience, leadership exposure, or a good undergrad record.

Some programs also accept GRE, and a few may waive GMAT/GRE entirely if you have years of solid professional experience or a strong academic background.

2. Is 600 Okay?

A 600 is borderline for competitive MBA programs. You might get into mid-tier schools, but for top programs, it could weaken your chances unless the rest of your profile is outstanding.

If you’re applying with a 600, make sure your SOP, resume, recommendations, and interview performance are strong.

3. Other Tips:

Always check each school’s class profile or admission page—they often publish the GMAT average and range.

If you have time, retaking the GMAT and pushing it up to 650+ can really improve your chances, especially for scholarships.
