Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking of going for an MBA abroad after graduation, and I just started looking into entrance exams. I came across the GMAT new format but I’m not sure what exactly is different from the old one. Can someone explain in a simple way what has changed in the new version? Is it easier or harder now?
Yeah, I gave the old GMAT last year and my friend recently took the GMAT new format. The new one is shorter – now it’s just around 2 hours 15 mins, earlier it was more than 3 hours. They removed the AWA (essay writing) section completely. Also, there’s more focus on data and logic now.
I’m preparing for the GMAT new format right now. It has three sections – Quantitative, Verbal, and a new one called Data Insights. DI is kind of a mix of IR (from the old format), data interpretation, and a bit of logic. Honestly feels more modern and aligned with real-world MBA skills.
